‘29’ trailer: Rathna Kumar promises a hard-hitting romance drama

The trailer of the upcoming Tamil romance drama, 29, written and directed by Rathna Kumar, was unveiled by the makers on Wednesday (May 6). Starring Vidhu and Preethi Asrani in the lead, the film is set to release in theatres on May 8.
The trailer shows glimpses of a story set at “a time before Tinder, Bumble and Oyo.” A 29-year-old man, Sathya, meets a 21-year-old woman, Viji, and they fall in love. Sathya has an identity crisis; without a set dream to chase after, he meanders through life, struggling to find a foothold. Viji, on the other hand, seems much sorted, as she toils hard to become an IAS officer. Viji’s entrance changes something in Sathya; however, as we can see through the many glimpses, it also leads him on a rough path. Sathya faces many trials and tribulations in his journey.
With music scored by Sean Roldan, 29 has cinematography by Madhesh Manickam and editing by RS Sathish Kumar. Kaarthekeyan Santhanan, Karthik Subbaraj and Lokesh Kanagaraj produce the film under their Stone Bench and GSquad production banners.
