
IRDAI,RBI not for commodity derivative investments by institutions:SEBI
The insurance and banking watchdogs are not inclined to allow institutions to investments in commodity derivatives , according to SEBI Chairperson Tuhin Kanta Pandey said at the capital market conference organised by IMC, at Mumbai on 4 May 2026.
“They were engaged with them and they had their rationale that at this moment they don’t feel it right time,” said Mr. Pandey. The Securities and Exchange Board of India said it will engage with the government to enable banks and pension funds to trade in commodities to promote the market.
