
Guntas to lead Indian team at Queen Sikrit Cup
A three-member Indian team led by 2025 Ladies Order of Merit winner Guntas Kaur Sandhu will participate in the prestigious Queen Sirikit Cup golf later this month.
The event from May 12-15, officially the Asia-Pacific Amateur Ladies Golf Team Championship, will be held at the Sentul Highlands Golf Club in Bogor, Indonesia with 15 countries participating including Australia, China, Japan, New Zealand and defending champion Korea.
Besides the 15-year-old Chandigarh-based Guntas, Haryana’s Ceerat Kang and Delhi’s Keya Badugu are the other golfers in the team named by the Indian Golf Union on Wednesday.
The Queen Sikrit Cup is considered one of the top amateur competitions in golf with Avani Prashanth becoming the first Indian individual winner ever in 43 in 2023. India also had its best-ever team performance the same year, finishing runner-up to Korea.
