
Techno Sportswear to expand to Odisha

Activewear manufacturer Techno Sportswear that has manufacturing facilities in Tiruppur and Erode districts in Tamil Nadu will expand to Odisha, said Sunil Jhunjhunwala its Managing Director and co – founder.
The company got $ 25 million in private equity from A91 Partners in May 2024. It has invested in plants in Perundurai and Vijayamangalam under the Production Linked Intensive Scheme of the Central government and manufactures 25 tonnes of fabric a day. “We clocked ₹600 crore topline in 2025-2026 and are looking at ₹1,000 crore this year,” he said. The company has invested during the last couple of years to have integrated production facility. It has set up a polyester filment yarn knitting and fabric processing facility in Perundurai and garment unit at Vijayamangalam.
“We have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Odisha government. The State has a port, workforce, and raw material availability. We are looking at starting a garmenting unit there,” he said.
While the company is expanding its domestic presence through online and offline retailing, it has also registered its brand in more than two dozen countries. It wants to strengthen its production and tap the export potential initially in the West and South East Asian countries, he said.
Employing about 2,000 people, Techno Sportswear has 51 own stores and will add another 80 this fiscal, added its Chief Executive Officer Puspen Maity.
