
T.N. CM Vijay pays tribute to social reformer Pandit Iyothee Thass; launches operation of 40 new vehicles for DMRHS

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Wednesday (May 20, 2026) paid floral tributes to the statue of social reformer Pandit Iyothee Thass on the occasion of his 181st birth anniversary on the Gandhi Mandapam campus in Chennai.
Mr. Vijay, along with his Cabinet colleagues including Ministers N. Anand, Aadhav Arjuna, K.A. Sengottaiyan, P. Venkataramanan, R. Nirmalkumar, Rajmohan, and T.K. Prabhu, legislators, and officials, paid tributes to the social reformer. They also raised slogans hailing Pandit Iyothee Thass.
Later, at the Secretariat, Mr. Vijay handed over keys of 40 new vehicles for the Directorate of Medical and Rural Health Services. The Chief Minister also drove a vehicle within the premises of the Secretariat.
Minister for Health and Family Welfare K.G. Arunraj, Chief Secretary M. Sai Kumar, Health Secretary Darez Ahamed, and officials were present on the occasion.
