Congress criticises Modi govt. over Israel-Gaza conflict stance

The Congress on Thursday (April 23, 2026) accused the Narendra Modi government of maintaining “silence” on the ongoing conflict in Gaza, alleging that no previous dispensation had displayed such “solidarity” with a “murderous regime” in Israel.
In a post on social media platform X, Congress communication chief Jairam Ramesh said the Prime Minister’s response to Israel’s military actions in Gaza and Lebanon reflected “moral cowardice”. He also flagged the continued displacement of Palestinians in the West Bank.
