Amid newfound bonhomie between the Congress and the Trinamool Congress during the floor coordination in Parliament to defeat the Constitutional Amendment Bill, which was part of the delimitation package, the West Bengal unit of the Congress is desperately trying to present itself as an Opposition to the ruling party in the poll-bound State.
As reports emerged that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had called and thanked Trinamool Congress general secretary Abhishek Banerjee after the Bill was defeated in Lok Sabha, West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee president Subhankar Sarkar tried to dispel the talk that there was a possibility of a post-poll alliance of his party with the Trinamool.
