Congress legislators staged a walkout during a one-day special session of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly on Monday (April 27, 2026), protesting the Speaker’s refusal to accept their private bill seeking immediate implementation of 33% reservation for women.
The Opposition members walked out of the House after Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar declined to take up the bill, ruling that a government resolution on the issue — scheduled to be moved by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav — had already been listed.
