Ionna Just Hit A Big Milestone, And It’s Offering Serious Discounts

Ionna hit a big milestone this week. The up-and-coming DC fast charging network backed by several automakers opened its 100th station in the United States, bringing the total number of individual bays to nearly 1,000.
That’s a big deal for a newcomer that was founded just two years ago and energized its first DC fast chargers in December 2024. Last year, Ionna said it planned to reach 100 sites by the end of December or in the first weeks of 2026 at the latest. That didn’t happen, with the company needing more time to reach its goal.

To celebrate the occasion, Ionna is offering discounted rates at its 400-kilowatt chargers to bring in more customers. When InsideEVs staff writer Suvrat Kothari visited one of Ionna’s rechargeries with a BMW iX, he said it was his best pit stop ever, with well-lit bays, reliable fast chargers, and proper amenities on site.
First up, General Motors EV drivers get an exclusive 10% discount on charging, which applies only to the cost of energy dispensed–it excludes taxes and session-related fees. Furthermore, drivers have to use their car manufacturer’s smartphone app–myCadillac, myChevrolet, or myGMC–to get the discount, which will show up on the receipt at the end of the session, and not on the stall’s screen. The 10% price cut will not be applied to charging sessions started using the stall’s credit card reader or third-party apps.
Other special offers, including loyalty rewards, pre-paid discount cards, and everyday base discounts without subscriptions, are coming to EV owners who drive cars built by Ionna’s founding partners. These include BMW, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis, and Toyota, so keep an eye out.
That’s not all, though. Ionna said it will charge $0.20/kilowatt-hour for the first week at every new location it opens this year, bringing significant savings to owners who need a top-up. By comparison, Ionna charges between $0.33-$0.39/kWh at its stations, so the first-week special pretty much cuts that in half.
This year alone, Ionna energized 212 new charging bays, and the company is not stopping here–over 4,700 bays are contracted nationwide, and nearly 1,500 are already under construction. By 2030, Ionna plans on running 30,000 DC fast charging bays capable of delivering up to 400 kW of power through a CCS or NACS cable.
