Barwal on pushing through till the finish

At the Rotterdam Marathon earlier this month, Sawan Barwal timed 2:11:58 on his marathon debut, breaking a 48-year-old National record set by Shivnath Singh. Yet, for a brief, dramatic stretch, it looked as though that long-standing mark might survive.

With the finish line within reach, Barwal stumbled and collapsed.
