Three artists and one shared lineage. At Artworld – Sarala’s Art Centre, Trilogy unfolds as a less formal exhibition, more a meeting of minds shaped over time. Featuring artists C Douglas, K Muralidharan and Rm Palaniappan, the show feels like a continuation of conversations that have long existed beyond the gallery walls. The Trilogy is presented as a legacy of the Government College of Fine Arts, a place that shaped the artistic journey of many in Tamil Nadu and around the world.
“I see these artists as among the last significant voices of the Madras Art Movement — being part of the process from within, working through it over many years. Trilogy felt like the continuation of a longer narrative — their shared roots at the Madras Art College, and how, despite a common academic grounding, each has moved outward in contrasting directions,” says curator Bishwajit Banerjee.
