Table-topper Haryana Thunders continued its impressive performance in the Pro Wrestling League, winning 5-4 over Punjab Royals in the first semifinal and advancing to the title clash. It now awaits the winner of the other semifinal between Delhi Dangal Warriors and Maharashtra Kesri.
Thunders absorbed early pressure, bouncing back from a 1-3 deficit to lead 5-3 and effectively sealing the match before captain Yui Susaki forfeited her final bout.
Royals opened the scoring, Chirag Chhikara registering a 2-1 win in the 57kg against Rohit. Haryana levelled through Parvinder (74kg), who beat under-23 World champion Chander Mohan on last point scored after the bout was tied at 8-8.
Punjab raced to a 3-1 lead before Haryana fought back and then edged ahead through Neha Sangwan (57kg) and Tumur Ochir Tulga (65kg) to confirm a spot in the final.
