Naidu, Pawan condole Asha Bhosle’s passing, hail her timeless legacy

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of veteran singer Asha Bhosle, describing her as a versatile vocalist and one of the most recorded artistes in the history of music. He said her extraordinary contribution, spanning more than seven decades, enriched generations with timeless melodies. A recipient of the Padma Vibhushan, her legacy would remain an integral part of India’s musical heritage and continue to resonate through the ages, he added, conveying his heartfelt condolences to her family.
Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan said Asha Bhosle was an iconic voice in Indian cinema who rendered countless memorable songs in Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Bengali and other languages. Her exceptional versatility enabled her to excel across classical, contemporary and western genres, earning admiration from music lovers across generations. Timeless songs such as “Dum Maro Dum,” “Chura Liya Hai Tumne,” “In Aankhon Ki Masti,” and “Radha Kaise Na Jale” stand testimony to her enduring legacy, he said, noting that though her contribution to Telugu cinema was limited, she was widely cherished in the Telugu States for her work in Hindi music.
