Man arrested for sexually harassing Malayalam actor in Kochi

A 27-year-old man has been arrested by the Palarivattom police in Kochi for allegedly stalking and sexually harassing a Malayalam actor.

The accused has been identified as Jithin Roy, a resident of Palarivattom and an IT employee in the city.

He allegedly misbehaved with her after reaching near the woman following her social media updates on Thursday night. The alleged incident happened near Kaloor. He was arrested on Friday based on a complaint from the woman.

According to police sources, the man, who claimed to be a fan of the actor, used to stalk her on social media from multiple accounts.

The police stated that the accused has been charged under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for outraging the modesty of a woman and for stalking.
