LSG could leave Akash Deep & Mayank Yadav, DC uncertain about Mitchell Starc

For now, all that has been said about the potential IPL trades, in this trade window, has not come true. Various reports have suggested the transfer of some big players into different franchises, but nothing materialised. And now it seems, all the players who could have been traded, will now end up being in the IPL 2026 auctions.

Team Unsure About Release Lists

Now, as per a report in Cricbuzz, some new developments have emerged. Sanju Samson — the current Rajasthan Royals skipper will be released by all means, unless a trade happens. While there were plans to get rid of Sri Lankan spinners in Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana, with Kumar Sangakkara set to return as the coach, things might just change.

As far as some of the other players are concerned — DC might be keen to release T Natarajan who only featured in two matches for them. Mitchell Starc might also have to pack his bags, despite a decent season for Delhi. LSG could end their run with pacer Akash Deep, and Mayank Yadav as well, who has been facing continuous injury issues.

Big Decisions to Make for LSG & DC

While there is certainly no confirmation on these names, this could very well happen, and KKR could also give Venkatesh Iyer a miss. One of the biggest name — who could be on the radar of many franchises is Australia’s Cameron Green, and could just shatter a lot of salary records in the IPL. The towering all-rounder had to sit out of the tournament this year, due to an untimely injury, but now is fully fit.

Meanwhile, as was suggested earlier as well, CSK would be looking to get rid of Deepak Hooda, Vijay Shankar, Rahul Tripathi, Sam Curran, and even their very-trusted Devon Conway. If those releases do happen, and with R Ashwin gone, CSK would have a pool of INR 20-25 Cr, which could be enough for them to build a stronger unit.
