Turmoil in Parliament

It is concerning that the Lower House of Parliament remains in turmoil after the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha cited an excerpt from an unpublished book by a former Chief of Army Staff in his speech. The issue of violent border skirmishes with China, in 2020, does not seem to have gone away and appears to be gaining steam again. The government of the day should come forward to table a factual report on the festering border issue and facilitate detailed deliberations by law-makers which will set the record straight.

The Treasury benches and the Opposition should both realise that the people’s forum needs to function in a smooth manner, with discussions on a range of burning issues confronting the country, instead of making the parliamentary system look sorry.
