Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Friday, urged New Mangalore Port Authority (NAPA) to rush to the rescue of EXIM traders, whose consignments are held up at the Port following geopolitical disruptions in West Asia by offering concessions and relaxations in various charges.

In a letter to the Chairman of NMPA, Chamber President P. B. Ahmed Mudassar said the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by the Ministry of Shipping and Ports during the geopolitical disturbances was a welcome move. In this background, the NMP, could extend the benefits, particularly those mentioned in Paragraph 6 of the SOP, to the export and import traders and agents who were badly affected by the crisis on case-to-case basis, he said.
