Affordability? These EV lease deals are HALF the average payment

Edmunds data shows US average monthly car payments crept over $770 in the closing months of 2025. With rising fuel costs and a shaky job market adding to the chaos, getting around feels more expensive than ever — but fear not! These EV lease deals clock in at under half that price, and can help slash your fuel costs, too!
More than 20% of America’s new car buyers are paying more than $1,000 per month for the privilege of buying new, which is driving near record levels of adoption for leases that can help to reduce payments and provide a buffer against rapid swings in the used car market by providing a set residual price — a rare consumer win that we’ve outlined before.
With war in Iran ratcheting up oil prices at the same time, getting around is becoming a substantial fiscal challenge for many Americans, and why these awesome, low-cost lease deals (presented in alphabetical order) couldn’t have come at a better time!
Chevy Equinox EV LT1

With the 2027 model year on its way, the 2026 Chevy Equinox EV is a steal this month, with significant price cuts and cash allowance deals on-hand to make trading into GM’s best-selling, 300-mile range electric SUV easier than ever — but this is an article about lease deals, and this Chevy doesn’t disappoint in that department either thanks to an advertised $259/mo. lease deal for 39 mo. $4,029 due at signing. That works out to an effective lease rate of $362/mo., just 47% of the national average new car payment.
Ford F-150 Lighting XLT

Ford F-150 Lightning is a reasonably capable half-ton truck with V2X capabilities that first proved themselves during Texas’ 2021 ice storms, when they backed up people’s homes while they waited for power to get restored. Ford Pro customers buying an F-150 Lightning for their commercial or public fleet also get Ford’s support in sourcing grants and incentives – meaning you’d be crazy not to take a serious look at this electric work truck.
Ford is advertising a $299/mo. lease on 2025 MY F‑150 Lightning XLT pickups. Be sure to read the fine print, though. That deal includes a hefty $6,999 due at signing and requires you to forgo the free Ford‑branded L2 home charger and works out to an effective lease rate of about $490/mo. While not ideal, it still compares super favorably to the $970/mo. average U.S. buyers pay to finance an ICE‑powered F‑150.
Honda Prologue

Manufactured alongside its GM siblings at the Ramos Arizpe plant in Coahuila, Mexico, the hot-selling Honda Prologue pairs GM’s excellent Ultium platform with Honda sensibilities and Apple CarPlay to create a winning combination – and customers noticed, making the Prologue one of the best-selling electric crossovers on the market … last year.
Prologue sales dropped off bigly after the cancellation of the $7,500 Federal EV tax credit last year, but Honda has responded with big discounts and deals that include a $249/mo. 36 month lease on Prologue EX models with $4,599 due at signing, an effective lease rate of $377/mo., which is still just under the halfway point.
Hyundai IONIQ 6

One of the lowest-cost leases in the country, on one of the best electric sedans money can buy? That’s what you can get this month in select markets with a $189/mo. 24 month lease on remaining 20205 MY Hyundai IONIQ 6 with $3,999 due at signing – an effective payment of $355/mo., just 46% of the national average new car payment.
For just $10/mo. more, consider leasing the Hyundai IONIQ 6 SE Long Range model, which takes range from the standard car’s from 240 up to 342 miles of EPA-rated range. This deal isn’t available everywhere, though, so check with your local dealer(s) to see if this deal is available in your market.
Kia EV6

Kia’s sporty, rocket-fast EV6 was announced to the world with a supercar-baiting drag race video, and despite the EV6 GT existing in a quasi-limbonic state in the US, almost all the Kia EV6 variants can claim that there’s almost nothing quicker that’s cheaper, with even the slowest models putting in respectable 0-60 times in the 7-second range.
This month, CarsDirect is reporting that customers in California and select markets can lease a new 2025 Kia EV6 Light Long Range model with 319 miles of range for just $299/mo. for 36 months with $3,999 due at signing.
Subaru Solterra Crossover

Like its Toyota bZ sibling, the 2026 Subaru Solterra Crossover is a vastly improved machine, featuring more range, more power, and quicker charging at a lower price than the previous version. The Subaru version undercuts the Toyota on price, however, with a $299/mo. lease for 36 months available with just $2,799 due at signing on Solterra Premium – a price that undercuts the virtually identical Toyota bZ.
It gets better for Subaru fans, too: the company is offering a $500 owner loyalty discount in select markets for returning lessees. If you qualify, that puts the Solterra’s effective cost at just $363/mo., well under half the national average for an AWD crossover with 288 miles of range.
