Rajagiri Hospital, Aluva, was witness to an endearing moment when actor Mammootty met Sandhya Biju, who began walking with her artificial limb after losing her leg in the Adimali landslide. Enquiring about her health, he reassured her that she would be provided with land and a house.

Sandhya, who sustained injuries in the landslide, recently underwent a surgery at the hospital to fit the artificial limb. Mr. Mammootty’s humanitarian initiative, Care & Share International Foundation, in association with the hospital, had borne the cost of treatment, the hospital said in a press release.

Sandhya was at the hospital for her first follow-up consultation after being fitted with an artificial limb. The actor, who was in Kochi for a film shoot, met her and presented her with a saree and a plant.

Rajagiri Hospital medical director Dr. Gigy Kuruttukulam, vice-president (health care promotions) Jose Paul, Care & Share managing director Fr. Thomas Kurien Marottipuzha, hospital directors George Sebastian and Robert Kuriakose, and Sandhya’s brother Sandeep were present.
