
Justice Lisa Gill assumes charge as AP High Court Judge

Justice Lisa Gill on Friday (March 13, 2026) assumed charge as a judge of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. Chief Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur administered her the oath of office at a ceremony held in the First Court Hall of the High Court.
Justice Lisa Gill has been transferred to the Andhra Pradesh High Court from the Punjab and Haryana High Court, where she had been serving as a judge. As Chief Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur is set to retire in April, Justice Lisa Gill is expected to become the first woman Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court thereafter.
Justice Gill hails from Chandigarh and completed her LL.B. and LL.M. from Panjab University. She began her legal practice in the Punjab and Haryana High Court in 1990 and was appointed as a judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on March 31, 2014.
The programme was attended by High Court judges, Additional Solicitor General Challa Dhanunjay, Advocate General Dammalapati Srinivas, Advocates’ Association vice-president K.V. Raghu Kumar, Bar Council Chairman Dwarakanath Reddy, Public Prosecutor Lakshmi Narayana and several senior advocates and lawyers.
