
Strength of electorate has shrunk across central districts
The voter strength in the four Assembly constituencies in Karur district has come down by 53,198 after the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
The district had 8,45,164 voters as per the final electoral rolls released by Collector M. Thangavel. This included 4,06,027 men, 4,39,054 women, and 83 others. Tthe Karur constituency with 2,26,584 voters was the largest in the district in terms of voter strength while Aravakurichi with 1,94,505 had the least number of voters in the district.
Prior to the SIR, the district had 8,98,362 voters as on October 27, 2025. After the publication of draft electoral rolls in the district, 35,743 voters were added while the names of 9,251 had been deleted, making for a net addition of 26,492 voters in the final rolls.
Mr. Thangavel appealed to the voters to verify the final rolls and ensure that their names had been included. Complaints or suggestions could be conveyed by dialling 1950. Applications for inclusions and deletions can be filed through the website https://voters.eci.gov.in or the Voter Help Line App or all recognised public service centres, he said.
Electorate in Pudukottai
Pudukottai district with six assembly constituencies also saw a decrease in total voter strength in the final roll that was released on Monday by the Collector M. Aruna.
As per the final roll, the total number of voters stood at 12,98,907. There are 6,41,276 men, 6,57,562 women, and 69 third gender respectively. The electorate size before the commencement of the SIR in the district was 13,94,112. A total of 48,662 voters were added while 4,280 voters were deleted after the publication of the draft electoral roll, a release said.
20,464 names added
As per the final electoral rolls released by Nagapattinam Collector P. Akash, the district had 5,27,947 voters, including 2,59,620 men, and 2,68,298 women, and 29 others. Before the SIR, the district had 5,67,730 voters as on October 27, 2025.
Following the publication of the draft electoral roll on December 19, 2025, 20,464 voters were included in the rolls while 2,909 names were removed.
Mayiladuthurai list
As per the final electoral rolls, Mayiladuthurai district has 7,29,216 voters, including 3,60,493 men, 3,68,676 women, and 47 transgender. After the publication of draft electoral rolls, 24,126 names were added and 3,032 names were deleted.
The district had 7,83,500 voters prior to the SIR as on October 27, 2025.
The final electoral rolls for all Assembly constituencies in Mayiladuthurai district were released by District Collector and District Election Officer H.S. Srikanth in the presence of recognised political party representatives at the Collectorate.
19,366 names added
The total voters’ strength as per the final roll, released by the Collector N. Mirunalini at the Collectorate in Perambalur, stood at 5,55,131. The district had 2,71, 634 men, 2,83,466 women, and 31 other voters.
An official release said 19,366 voters were added and 5,177 voters were deleted after the publication of the draft electoral roll on December 19 last year. The total voters in Perambalur district as on October 27, 2025 was 5,90,490 and voters strength has come down by 35,359 following the SIR.
Ariyalur district voter list
There has been a slight decrease in the size of the electorate in Ariyalur district after the SIR. The number of voters in the two Assembly constituencies of Ariyalur and Jayamkondam in the district came down by 7,936.
The district had 5,22,954 voters, including 2,63,692 women, 2,59,234 men, and 28 others as per the final electoral rolls released by Collector P. Rathinasamy. Prior to the SIR, the district 5,30,890 voters.
