We have allocated over ₹22,000 crore for green energy corridor schemes: Union Energy Minister

Speaking in the Lok Sabha during the Question Hour, Minister of New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi said, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union government has allocated ₹10,000 crore under green corridor phase one and around ₹12,000 crore under green corridor phase two schemes. 

Green Energy Corridor [GEC] phase I is under implementation in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu for grid integration and power evacuation of about 24 GW of RE. 

GEC Phase II will facilitate grid integration and power evacuation of about 20 GW of renewable energy (RE) projects in seven States — Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh.
