Four, including three women farm labourers, 13 year old girl, killed as tractor-trolley plunges into ditch

Three women agricultural labourers and a 13-year-old girl were killed when a tractor-trolley carrying them plunged into a roadside ditch at Mogilipet village in Mallapur mandal of Jagtial district late on Tuesday evening. The ghastly accident left around eight other occupants of the tractor-trolley injured.

According to sources, the accident occurred when the tractor-trolley fell into the ditch along the roadside before turning turtle on the outskirts of Mogilipet around 6.45 p.m.

The tractor driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to plunge into the ditch.

Death was instant for four occupants of the tractor-trolley. The deceased were identified as Sayamma, 35, Lalitha, 42, Gangu, 45, and Vaishnavi, 13. They reportedly belonged to Mogilipet.

The injured farm labourers were rushed to a hospital in Metpalli by the police.

The farm labourers were returning to their village on the tractor-trolley after harvesting turmeric in an agricultural field at Rathnapur village, when the accident took place.
