Army flags off ‘Bharat Ranbhoomi Darshan’ expedition from Dwarka
The ‘Bharat Ranbhoomi Darshan’ expedition was flagged off from the coastal city of Dwarka on Tuesday (February 3, 2026) as a tribute to the valour, sacrifice and enduring spirit of the Indian Army’s Regiment of Artillery. The expedition is being undertaken in collaboration with gunners of the Indian Navy, and the Border Security Force (BSF).
The expedition was flagged off by Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma in the presence of senior military officers, veterans, representatives of the civil administration, cadets of the National Cadet Corps, schoolchildren, and local residents in a ceremony was marked by patriotic fervour.
The expedition team will travel over 3,400 km along India’s western frontier, covering key border regions of Gujarat and Rajasthan, before culminating the journey at the National War Memorial in New Delhi. During the journey, the team will revisit historic battlefields, pay homage at war memorials, interact with villagers and veterans living along the border, and “reaffirm the nation’s gratitude to its soldiers”.
Dwarka, one of India’s oldest and most spiritually significant cities, was chosen as the starting point “to symbolise resilience, faith, and the country’s deep civilisational roots”. The coastal city also holds strategic importance, underscoring the role of the Indian Navy in safeguarding India’s maritime frontiers, a statement issued by the Indian Army read.
Throughout the expedition, participants will engage with serving personnel, veterans, and local communities, with a special focus on reaching out to youth to promote awareness on India’s military heritage and foster a sense of patriotism, the statement added.
“The Bharat Ranbhoomi Darshan expedition highlights jointmanship among the Army, Navy and BSF, honours the sacrifices of India’s war heroes, and seeks to strengthen national pride and unity,” the Indian Army said.
