149 leopards died since in 14 months in Madhya Pradesh; road accidents cause 31% deaths

At least 149 leopards died in Madhya Pradesh since January 2025, government records showed as per a Right To Information (RTI) response.
According to the RTI response, obtained by wildlife activist Ajay Dubey, 113 leopards lost their lives in 2025 while 36 died in January and February of this year.
